Riverdale Residence

Elysian Park, California | 2012

Three separate structures sit on this property: a main house at front and a garage and additional accessory building in the middle. The positions of these buildings subdivided the lot in small sections that were difficult to access. After strategically opening up walls and connecting the buildings with outdoor decks, the disparate structures became unified. The new plan allows spaces to overlap and open onto each other, bringing transparency and expansiveness to the residence.
